Learning Outcomes
Understand Singapore’s approach to managing and safeguarding religious diversity, as well as preserving peace, harmony, and security, including how the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) works with community partners to set up the Harmony in Diversity Gallery.
Understand how the Harmony in Diversity Gallery showcases Singapore’s religious diversity and fosters respect and appreciation for the beliefs and practices of the different faiths, and confidently present and promote the gallery to guests.
Understand the role of the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO) in Singapore.

About the Trainer
May Hui
Licensed Tourist Guide &
ACTA-Certified Adult Trainer
Licensed by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) as a Tourist Guide in 1980 and the holder of a B.Sc (Hons) in International Tourism and Hospitality Management, May Hui has experience in various aspects of tourist guiding and training.
Her passion in heritage led her to attend more specialised training programmes, and she is today a docent at the museums/galleries, including the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum, Former Ford Factory, Harmony in Diversity Gallery, Indian Heritage Centre, Malay Heritage Centre, National Gallery Singapore, Singapore City Gallery, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) Gallery, and Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall.
May is also a volunteer guide at Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO), for which she conducts “Walking in the Footsteps of our Foremothers”.
Trainer and assessor for the Tourist Guide Programme at Approved Training Organisations (ATOs), May conducts Professional Development Courses (PDCs) and LEARN courses for the Society of Tourist Guides (Singapore) (STGS).
Since 2002, May has contributed her time at the prisons as a volunteer after-care officer, with the Singapore After-Care Association. Befriending ex-offenders to help them get on their feet, May has twice received the Outstanding Volunteer Award in recognition of exemplary service rendered.
