Learning Outcomes
Learn compelling stories of soldiers commemorated at the Kranji War Cemetery and Memorial.
Become more familiar with the layout of the cemetery, as well as common key features in Commonwealth War Cemeteries all over the world, including symbols, badges, and inscriptions.
Be able to conduct tours that are coherent and respectful; as well as confidently answer questions from visitors.

About the Trainer
May Hui
Licensed Tourist Guide &
ACTA-Certified Adult Trainer
Licensed by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) as a Tourist Guide in 1980 and the holder of a B.Sc (Hons) in International Tourism and Hospitality Management, May Hui has experience in various aspects of tourist guiding and training.
Conducting tours for local Tourist Guides at the Kranji War Cemetery and Memorial for the past 20 years, May is also a volunteer guide at Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, for which she conducts “Eternal Vigilance” in the Civic District.
Her passion in heritage and history led her to attend more specialised training programmes, and she is today a docent at several museums / galleries, including the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum, Former Ford Factory, Harmony in Diversity Gallery, Indian Heritage Centre, Malay Heritage Centre, National Gallery Singapore, Singapore City Gallery, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) Gallery, and Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall.
Trainer and assessor for the Tourist Guide Programme at Approved Training Organisations (ATOs), May conducts Professional Development Courses (PDCs) and LEARN courses for the Society of Tourist Guides (Singapore) (STGS).
Since 2002, May has contributed her time at the prisons as a volunteer after-care officer, with the Singapore After-Care Association. Befriending ex-offenders to help them get on their feet, May has twice received the Outstanding Volunteer Award in recognition of exemplary service rendered.
