Learning Outcomes

  1. Be attuned with events and organisations behind the setting up of  Kranji War Cemetery and memorials;

  2. Able to describe the cemetery layout and explain deviation and non-uniformity behind some headstones and inscriptions on the memorial walls; and

  3. Able to plan and conduct a flexible hour-long tour with stories of some interred servicemen and associated events.

About the Trainers

George Goh

Licensed Tour Guide & Trainer

George Goh has over 35 years of experience in the engineering and transportation sectors, moving up through various operations and management positions across several companies.

Since retiring, George has dedicated his time to guiding and educating. Highlights include:

  1. Conducting Professional Development Courses (PDC) for fellow Tourist Guides at STGS;

  2. Conducting WWII site tours for various groups, including the SAF and schools;

  3. Conducting Total Defence Tours for school learning journeys and SAF groups;

  4. Docent at Marina Barrage Sustainable Singapore Gallery;

  5. Qualified guide at Gardens by the Bay conducting nature and sustainability tours for various groups; and

  6. MPA qualified guide across all Singapore Maritime Trails, Sea Tours, and Raffles Lighthouse Tours.

A Singapore Tourism Board-licensed tourist guide since 2012, George holds an Advanced Certificate for Training and Assessment (ACTA), and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering.

Yee Min Chiat

Licensed Tour Guide & Trainer

Yee Min Chiat brings with him over 35 years of multi-disciplinary experiences spanning engineering, human resource development, safety & security, and emergency response. He has been designing and facilitating learning and development programmes since 1992, beginning with outdoor experiential learning, and specialising in team building and effectiveness.

A firm believer in lifelong learning, Yee Min Chiat holds a BSc (Hons) in Management Studies awarded by the University of London and received a Gold Award as top student for his Diploma in Human Resource Development. He also holds diplomas in Civil Engineering and Management Studies, as well as the Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP). He is accredited to administer MBTI (Step 1 & 2) and DiSC, and is licensed to facilitate The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People for a sanctioned organisation. In addition, he is a licensed Tourist Guide in Singapore.

In recognition of his dedication and service, he has been conferred multiple National Day Awards, including the Commendation Medal (Military), the Long Service Medal (JTC–MTI), the Commendation Medal (JTC–MTI), and the Covid-19 Resilience Medal.

With extensive operational leadership experience and a strong foundation in adult learning, Yee Min Chiat brings practical insight, and real-world application to his training engagements.
