Course Overview
This course will bring participants to the Civic District, Beach Road and Bras Basah areas; and explore topics relating to the invasion of Singapore from 1941, life in Singapore during the Japanese Occupation between 1942 to 1945. Participants will also trace the events leading to the independence of Singapore and the implementation of National Service.
Learning Outcomes
Trace the Battle for Singapore during World War II, from the invasion in 1941, to the fall of Singapore in 1942.
Talk about life in Singapore for civilians and prisoners-of-war during the Japanese Occupation (1942-1945).
List the events that occurred after 1945, leading to the implementation of National Service.
